   BEDFORDSHIRE COUNTY GOLF UNION

                                                                                                             

COMPETITION REGULATIONS

(Applicable to all Competitions)

 

BCGU competitions are open to amateur members of Clubs affiliated to the Union.  Players must have a current active CONGU handicap. Inactive, temporary, block or social club members are not eligible to enter.

 

All disputes will be settled by the Championship Committee, whose decision shall be final.

 

The Championship Committee, in addition to the powers conferred upon it by the Rules of Golf, have power to modify the regulations governing any Competition that is its responsibility.

 

Competitions will be played under the Rules of Golf, as supplemented by Local Rules, including any additional Local Rules as may be necessary, made on the day of the Competition as approved by the Championship Committee.

 

A player may represent only one Club in any calendar year (should a player represent his existing Club in a competition that runs from one year into another, providing he does not play for his existing or new Club in that competition after 1 January he will be eligible to represent his new Club.

 

At the discretion of the County Competitions Secretary, late entries may be allowed but will be subject to a £5 surcharge.

 

THE COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP

 

1                The County Championship shall be held in each year to decide the Bedfordshire Amateur Championship and the Club Team Championship of the County.

 

2          The Championship of the County shall be open to any amateur who:-

(a) is a member of an affiliated Club in the County, or was born in Bedfordshire and has not represented another County or taken part in a Championship of that County since January 1st in the preceding year.

(b) has a certified handicap not higher than the maximum specified by the Championship Committee - 6 at the present time. Should the Championship be over-subscribed then a ballot of the higher handicaps will be made.

 

3          The Championship shall be decided by Medal play over 72 holes, the competitor returning the lowest gross aggregate score to be the winner. The Championship Committee shall specify the number of players qualifying for the final 36 holes (currently top 50% and ties). In the event of a tie, there will be a 3 hole play off, followed by “sudden death” until a definitive result is obtained. The play off holes will be determined by the Championship Committee.

 

4          The Club Team Championship shall be open to all affiliated Clubs, who shall be represented by a team of three players (all of whom must be eligible to take part in the Championship) nominated before commencing play on the day of the competition. The Championship will be decided on Medal play over the first 36 holes, the winning Club being that which has the lowest gross aggregate of all players. In the event of a tie the result will be decided on the scores over the last the last 18, 9, 6, 3 or 1 holes and, if still tied, over the last 15 or 12 holes.

The winning team shall be nominated to represent Bedfordshire in the EGU Champion Club Tournament.

 

5        The top sixteen players in the Championship shall be entered into a seeded draw for the County Match-play Championship (see Match-play Championship rules)

 

 

6        The entrance fee for the Championship shall be determined, from time to time, by the Championship Committee.

 

7        All entries shall be made through the County Competitions Secretary. E-mail entries will be accepted provided monies are received within 10 days of the e-mail entry being made.

 

THE COUNTY COLTS CHAMPIONSHIP

 

1          A Colts Championship shall be held in each year alongside the County Championship

 

2              The Colts Championship of the County shall be open to any amateur who is under 21 years of age at the 1st of January in the year or the Championship and:-

(a) is a member of an affiliated Club in the County, or was born in Bedfordshire and has not represented another County or taken part in a Championship of that County since January 1st in the preceding year.

(b) has a certified handicap not higher than the maximum specified by the Championship Committee - 7 at the present time. Should the County Championship and Colts Championship be over-subscribed then a ballot of the higher handicaps will be made.

 

3          The Championship shall be decided by Medal play over 72 holes, the competitor returning the lowest gross aggregate score to be the winner. The Competitions Committee shall specify the number of players qualifying for the final 36 holes (currently top 6 and ties). In the event of a tie there will be a a “sudden death” play off until a definitive result is obtained. The play off holes will be determined by the Championship Committee. Should those players also be in a tie for the County Championship then the rules for the County Championship play off override the above.

 

4          The entrance fee for the Championship shall be determined, from time to time, by the Championship Committee.

 

5              All entries shall be made through the County Competitions Secretary. E-mail entries will be accepted provided monies are received within 10 days of the e-mail entry being made.

 

THE SENIORS CHAMPIONSHIP

 

1       The Seniors Championship of the County shall be open to any amateur who is 55 years or over by the date of the Championship and:-

(a) is a member of an affiliated Club in the County, or was born in Bedfordshire and has not represented another County or taken part in a Championship of that County since January 1st in the preceding year.

 

Should the Seniors Championships be over-subscribed then a ballot of the higher handicaps will be made.

 

2          The Championship shall be decided by Medal play over 18 holes, the competitor returning the lowest gross aggregate score to be the winner. In the event of a tie there will be a “sudden death” play off until a definitive result is obtained. The play off holes will be determined by the Championship Committee.

 

3                The entrance fee for the Championship shall be determined, from time to time, by the Championship Committee.

 

4                There will be age Championships (55-59 years; 60-64 years; 65-69 years and 70years and over) in addition to the overall Championship, should there be ties for any of these Championships they will be decided on a card play off over the last 9, 6, 3 or 1 holes and, if still tied, over the last 15 or 12 holes.

 

5                All entries shall be made through the County Competitions Secretary. E-mail entries will be accepted provided monies are received within 10 days of the e-mail entry being made.

 

THE COUNTY FOURSOMES CHAMPIONSHIP.

 

1          The Foursomes Championship of the County shall be open to any amateur pairing who:-

(a) are members of an affiliated Club in the County, or were born in Bedfordshire and have not represented another County or taken part in a Championship of that County since January 1st in the preceding year.

 

2          Pairings may be made from different Clubs. Should the Championship be over-subscribed then a ballot of the higher handicaps will take place.

 

3          The Championship shall be decided by Medal play over 36 holes, players must tee off alternatively over the full 36 holes. Players may not change the driving order for the second round. The pair returning the lowest gross aggregate score will be the winners. In the event of a tie there will be a “sudden death” play off until a definitive result is obtained. The play off holes will be determined by the Championship Committee.

 

4          The entrance fee for the Championship shall be determined, from time to time, by the Championship Committee.

 

5          All entries shall be made through the County Competitions Secretary. E-mail entries will be accepted provided monies are received within 10 days of the e-mail entry being made

 

THE COUNTY 'B' CHAMPIONSHIP

 

1          The County 'B' Championship of the County shall be open to any amateur who:-

(a) is a member of an affiliated Club in the County, or was born in Bedfordshire and has not represented another County or taken part in a Championship of that County since January 1st in the preceding year.

          (b) has a certified handicap not lower than the minimum specified by the Championship Committee - 4 at the present time. Should the Championship be over-subscribed then a ballot of the higher handicaps will be made. Should a players handicap reduce below the minimum specified AFTER his entry has been received then he will still be eligible to play in, and win, the Championship.

 

2          The Championship shall be decided by Medal play over 36 holes, the competitor returning the lowest gross aggregate score will be the winner. In the event of a tie there will be a “sudden death” play off until a definitive result is obtained. The play off holes will be determined by the Championship Committee.

 

3          The entrance fee for the Championship shall be determined, from time to time, by the Championship Committee.

 

4          All entries shall be made through the County Competitions Secretary. E-mail entries will be accepted provided monies are received within 10 days of the e-mail entry being made.

 

COUNTY FOURBALL

 

1          The Fourball Competition shall be open to any amateur pairing who are members of an affiliated Club in the County.

 

2          Pairings may be made from different Clubs and entries will be accepted on a “first come first served” basis with no ballot of higher handicaps if over-subscribed.

 

3          The Competition shall be decided by Stableford Scoring (3/4 handicap) over 36 holes, the pair returning the highest aggregate points will be the winners. In the event of a tie the result will be decided on the scores over the last 18, 9, 6, 3 or 1 holes, or if still tied over the last 15 or 12 holes.

 

4          The entrance fee for the Championship shall be determined, from time to time, by the Competitions Committee.

 

5          All entries shall be made through the County Competitions Secretary. E-mail entries will be accepted provided monies are received within 10 days of the e-mail entry being made

 

BOYS CHAMPIONSHIPS

 

Under 18 and Under 16 Championships

 

1          Competitors must be attached to Clubs affiliated to the Union and must be under 16 and under 18 years of age and over 14 years of age on the 1st January in the year of the Championships. They must not have represented another County or taken part in a Championship of that County in the current year.

 

2          Players under 14 years of age on the 1st January in the year of the Competition are NOT eligible for the Championships.

 

3          Entries will be limited to 72 players and in the event of this number being exceeded those with the higher handicaps will balloted out by the Championships Committee.

 

4          The Championship shall be decided by Medal play over 36 holes, the competitor returning the lowest gross aggregate score will be the winner. In the event of a tie there will be a “sudden death” play off until a definitive result is obtained. The play off holes will be determined by the Championships Committee.

 

5          The entrance fee for the Championship shall be determined, from time to time, by the Championships Committee.

 

6          All entries shall be made through the County Competitions Secretary individually or through Clubs using the entry list supplied. E-mail entries will be accepted provided monies are received within 10 days of the e-mail entry being made.

 

Under 14 and Under 12 Championships

 

1          Competitors must be attached to Clubs affiliated to the Union and must be under 12 and under 14 years of age on the 1st January in the year of the Championships. They must not have represented another County or taken part in a Championship of that County in the current year.

 

2          Entries will be limited to 72 players and in the event of this number being exceeded those with the higher handicaps will balloted out by the Championships Committee.

 

3          The Championship shall be decided by Medal play over 18 holes, the competitor returning the lowest gross aggregate score will be the winner. In the event of a tie there will be a “sudden death” play off until a definitive result is obtained. The play off holes will be determined by the Championships Committee.

5          All entries shall be made through the County Competitions Secretary individually or through Clubs using the entry list supplied. E-mail entries will be accepted provided monies are received within 10 days of the e-mail entry being made.

 

 

Junior Inter Club (EGU Junior Champion Club Qualifier)

 

Competitors must be attached to Clubs affiliated to the Union and must be under 18 years of age on the 1st January in the year of the Competition. They must not have represented another County or taken part in a Championship of that County in the current year.

 

Clubs should use the entry sheet supplied.

 

The Competition will played over 18 holes, Stableford scoring using full handicap from medal tees, teams of three (boys, girls or mixed), all scores to count. Clubs are invited to enter up to two teams for this competition - should there be sufficient space then a third team may be entered.

 

In the event of a tie the result will be decided on the aggregate scores of all competitors over the last 9, 12 or 15 holes.

 

This is a qualifying competition - the winning team will be the Bedfordshire representative for the EGU Champion Club Competition.

 

The entrance fee shall be determined, from time to time, by the Competition Committee.

LEAGUES - RULES

 

BEDFORDSHIRE MID HANDICAP GOLF LEAGUE

 

1          All those Clubs affiliated to Bedfordshire County Golf Union are eligible to enter the “Bedfordshire Handicap League”.

 

 

2          The Competition Format will depend on the level of support and thus the numbers involved. However, the following will apply:

 

a)         Up to six teams - a single league with each team playing home and away. Result - 3 points for an away win and 2 points for a home win.

b)         Seven to twelve entries - Two regional leagues on the same format as 2a) with each league winner playing a final on home and away basis.

c)         Thirteen and above entries - Four regional leagues on the format as 2a).

 

The Winner and Runner - up from each group will proceed through to the quarter final stages in which the winner of each group will have home advantage in a one legged quarter final. In this stage the draw will be such that it will not be possible for the group winners to play against the runners up in the same group.

 

3          Teams will comprise five players selected for each match and drawn from the handicap ranges as follows: 2 from 6-9, 2 from 10-13, and one from 14-18. A higher handicap player may play in a lower handicap grouping.

 

In the Semi-final and Final, 5 members to play on a home and away basis. Team members may vary over the two legs providing handicap requirements are met.

 

4          When arranging Matches the home team must give at least three reasonable dates on which a match is to be played.

 

Each home Club will be responsible for arranging a date and time for the match to be played. Failure to agree an arrangement by the prescribed date given will incur the awarding of matches. If the home team receives no response by the prescribed date then they will claim the match. If away team does not receive three dates by the prescribed date then they claim the match. The points score as a normal match (i.e. 5 - 0) with 2pts for a home win and 3 points for an away win.

 

In the event of a club withdrawing/failing to complete all matches their entry into the following year's competition will be automatically withdrawn unless special representations are made.

 

5          Starting times are to be agreed between the two captains' and all matches must be off the tee within 45 minutes of the agreed starting time. Failure to do so will automatically entail the loss of that game(s).

 

6          The format of each competitive game will be match play with each sub group playing against each other off level. The order of play will be in descending order of handicap i.e. 14-16 followed by 10-13 with 6-9 off last. Strict handicap order to the groups will apply with the highest in each group playing first.

 

7          An annual entry fee, as approved by the County Golf Union, will apply to cover the cost of individual winning prizes - the current fee being £12 per team

 

8          The overall winning Club will receive the “Bedfordshire Handicap League” Trophy to be retained by the winning Club for one year.

 

 

9          Although not obligatory a team strip should be encouraged to give the event prestige.  Due consideration must also be given to the dress rules of the home club, both on the golf course and within the clubhouse.

 

10         Event Duration- The competition will run from the 1st April to 31st October each year.

 

All league matches must be completed no later than the 2nd week of August.

All quarter finals must be completed by 31st August

All Semi-Finals must be completed by 30th September.

The Final must be completed by 31st October.

 

In the event that team organisers are unable to arrange dates for the semi-final and final matches the County Committee will set date(s) of play irrespective of the strengths of the teams.

 

11         Organisation

 

a)         Club Level - Each Club will appoint a Team Organiser/Captain either playing or non-playing. The Organiser will be responsible for team selection and, where possible, within the CONGU Unified Handicapping System, ensure that playing handicaps are fair and reasonable. In addition, it will be the Organiser's responsibility to liaise with other Clubs and the Central Competition Co-ordinator.

 

b)         Central - The overall Competition Administration will be a sub-committee of the Bedfordshire County Golf Union and comprise three members who, will be; County President; County Secretary and County Handicap League Organiser, whose ruling in the event of a dispute will be final and in whose absence may be substituted by the County Vice President; Immediate past County President or Summer Scratch League Secretary.

 

12         The home Team Co-ordinator will be responsible for match arrangements to suit the home Club's commitments. In this regard the away team must, where at all possible, comply with the arrangements to suit. If agreement cannot be reached Rule 5 will apply.

 

13         In the event of a halved match, the last match on the draw sheet shall play a sudden death play off in order to achieve a result.

 

14         In the event that two or more teams are tied within their group at the conclusion of the league stages, then their position will be determined by the highest difference between legs won and lost during all the league matches.

 

BEDFORDSHIRE SUMMER SCRATCH LEAGUE

 

1          All those Clubs affiliated to Bedfordshire County Golf Union are eligible to enter the “Bedfordshire Summer Scratch League”.

 

2          Clubs may enter a second Team. However, Clubs are encouraged to only include players under 21 years of age in the second Team but this is not mandatory.

 

3          Formation of Divisions will depend on the level of support and thus the numbers involved. However, the following will apply:

 

            Division 1 - League of 7

Division 2 - League of 6

Division 3 - League of 6

Division 4 - Up 7 Clubs

 

Two teams shall be promoted from Divisions 2 and 3 and 4 and two teams shall be relegated from divisions 1 & 2 and 3

 

Prizes will be award to the winners of each division.

 

4          Teams will comprise five players playing off scratch.

 

5          Matches to be played within the dates given when the draw for the competition is distributed to team organisers. It is the responsibility of the home team to offer 2 midweek or 1 weekend date for each match, one of which must be accepted.

 

In the event of a dispute between Clubs fulfilling a fixture and such dispute cannot be resolved by reference to any other league rule, the League Secretary should be notified within seven days by both Clubs, setting out the full facts of dispute to enable the League Committee to adjudicate.

 

In the event of a club withdrawing/failing to complete all matches their entry into the following year's competition will be automatically withdrawn unless special representations are made.

           

            All matches must be completed before the end of the 3rd week of September.

 

6          Starting times are to be agreed between the two captains' and all matches must be off the tee within 45 minutes of the agreed starting time. Failure to do so will automatically entail the loss of that game(s).

 

7          Before commencement of the first game each Team Captain must provide his opposite number with an order of play on a team sheet.

 

8          Two points will be awarded for each match won and one point for halved matches.

 

On the completion of all matches 2 or more teams have the same points total then a countback on the total number of individual games won will operate. If still tied, a further countback based upon match results, both wins and losses will be made, for example a 5 & 4 will count as 9, a 2 & 1 as 3. The team with the highest winning plus will be declared the winner in all issues involving championship, promotion and relegation.

 

Given the countback rule it is vital that the Home Team match representative or Team Captain complete the match result sheet and post it first class within two days to the League Secretary. Failure to do so could result in disqualification. 

                       

9          An annual entry fee, as approved by the County Golf Union, will apply to cover the cost of individual winning prizes - the current fee being £20 per team.

 

10         The overall winning Club will receive the “Bedfordshire Scratch League” Trophy to be retained by the winning Club for one year.

 

11         Should a player change Clubs within the County during the year not having played in the Scratch Team of his previous Club in a County Event or Competition within that year (from 1st January) he is eligible to play for his new club immediately. If however he has played for his previous Clubs Scratch in such an event within the year he is not eligible to represent his new club until the 1st January of the next year.

 

Players moving into the Bedfordshire from another County may represent their new Club immediately.

 

Players may represent the same club in the Scratch and Handicap Leagues.

 

A player who initially has represented the first team of a Club may not play in the second team.

A second team player may play one game only for the first team and will still remain eligible to play in the second team. However, should that player then play a second game for the first team then he will no longer be eligible to play for the second team in that years competition - he may continue to represent his Club in the first team.

 

12         Although not obligatory a team strip should be encouraged to give the event prestige.  Due consideration must also be given to the dress rules of the home club, both on the golf course and within the clubhouse.

 

13         Organisation

 

a)    Club Level - Each club will appoint a Team Organiser/Captain, either playing or non playing. It will be the Organiser's responsibility to liaise with other Clubs and the County Scratch League Secretary.

 

b)    County Level - The overall Competition Administration will be a sub committee of the Bedfordshire County Golf Union and comprise of three members who will be: County President, County Secretary and County Scratch League Secretary, whose ruling in the event of a dispute will be final and in whose absence may be substituted by the County Vice President, Immediate past County President or Handicap League Secretary.

 

 

BEDFORDSHIRE SENIORS WINTER LEAGUE

 

1          All those Clubs affiliated to Bedfordshire County Golf Union are eligible to enter the “Bedfordshire Seniors Winter Scratch League”. Entry will be restricted to one entry per club.  All players must be aged 55 and over as of 1st January in the year in which the league commences.

 

2          There will one League, however, should more than 8 entries be received a review of the league format will be undertaken.

 

3          Teams will comprise five players. In the event that a club is unable to field a team, players from two or more clubs may combine together to make a team.  For the purposes of deciding where the home club lies this will be determined according to the most players from one club in that team.

 

4          Matches are to be played within the dates given when the draw for the competition is distributed to team organisers. Matches are to be played in accordance with the playing schedule.

 

The Home Team Captain must offer 3 dates, one of which must be  accepted.

 

Matches are to played over separate 18 holes on a holes up basis.

If the golf course is open for play, irrespective of temporary greens, then the matches will be played - extensions will only be given if inclement weather has caused closure and then only with executive clearance will an extension be granted.

 

In the event of a dispute between Clubs fulfilling a fixture and such dispute cannot be resolved by reference to any other league rule, the League Secretary should be notified within seven days by both Clubs, setting out the full facts of dispute to enable the League Committee to adjudicate.

 

In the event of a club withdrawing/failing to complete all matches their entry into the following year's competition will be automatically withdrawn unless special representations are made and accepted.

 

The League will run from 1 October and all matches must be completed by 30th April irrespective of the playing commitments of the players from the clubs concerned.

           

5          Starting times are to be agreed between the two captains' and all matches must be off the tee within 45 minutes of the agreed starting time. Failure to do so will automatically entail the loss of that game(s) - i.e. 18 holes down.

 

6          Before commencement of the first game each Team Captain must provide his opposite number with an order of play on a team sheet - in handicap order with the lowest handicap playing first.

 

 

7          All match results must be returned on the supplied result sheet and posted to the League Secretary. Any match which is being played on the last day or within 72 hours of the 30th April should also be telephoned through (failure to do so could/will result in a disqualification of both clubs involved).

 

8          An annual entry fee, as approved by the County Golf Union, will apply to cover the cost of individual winning prizes - the current fee being £15 per team.

 

9          The overall winning Club will receive the “Bedfordshire Seniors Winter League” Trophy to be retained by the winning Club for one year. The number of individual trophies provided by the Bedfordshire County Golf Union and awarded to individuals (winners and runners up) will be restricted to a maximum of 5. Should the clubs involved require additional trophies then these may be purchased, via the League Secretary, at their own expense.

 

10         Should a player change Clubs within the County during the year, and not having played in the Seniors Team of his previous Club in a County Event or Competition within that year (from 1st January) he is eligible to play for his new club immediately. If however he has played for his previous Clubs Seniors team in such an event within the year he is not eligible to represent his new club until the 1st January of the next year.

If the player has participated in an earlier round of the competition for a club but changes club he will not be eligible to represent his new club during the duration of the competition. In the event that this does happen then that player's game will result in an automatic 18 holes loss and possible disqualification for the club involved.

 

Players moving into Bedfordshire from another County may represent their new club immediately.

 

11         Although not obligatory a team strip should be encouraged to give the event prestige.  Due consideration must also be given to the dress rules of the home club, both on the golf course and within the clubhouse.

b)    County Level - The overall Competition Administration will be a sub-committee of the Bedfordshire County Golf Union and comprise of three members who will be: County President, County Secretary and County  Leagues Secretary, whose ruling in the event of a dispute will be final and in whose absence may be substituted by the County Vice President, immediate past County President or County Competitions Secretary

 

 

TAVISTOCK TROPHY

 

1          All those Clubs affiliated to Bedfordshire County Golf Union are eligible to enter “The Tavistock Trophy”

 

2          The Competition will be administered by the nominated officer of the Bedfordshire County Golf Union. Any dispute will be decided by the Competition Sub-Committee comprising the County President, County Vice President, Immediate Past President, Competition Administrator and County Secretary; whose ruling will be final.

 

Each Club will appoint a Team Organiser, usually the Club Juniors Organiser.  The Team Organiser will be responsible for team selection and for ensuring that the players have conformed to the requirements of the CONGU Unified Handicapping System, particularly, clauses 8.5 and 20.11, to ensure that playing handicaps are fair and reasonable. It will be the Organiser's responsibility to liaise with other Clubs and the Competition Administrator.

It is expected that the Team Organisers will attend the matches to assist with the administration of the match and to return score sheets to the Competition Administrator within 72 hours of each match being played.

 

Entry forms will be sent to clubs by the first week of December in each year. These must be returned, with the entry fee, to the event organiser no later than the end of the 3rd week of January. The draw for the Leagues will be made at the meeting of Junior Organisers, which takes place in early February each year. No clubs will be seeded. The Leagues will be drawn at random, and once the leagues have been drawn no further clubs may enter.

 

3          The Competition Format will depend on the number of Clubs entering, but there will be 4 Leagues with up to 5 teams per league.

 

The Winners of each League will contest the final, which will be staged at the Club whose team won the event in the previous year.

 

4          Teams will comprise six players with officially recognised active handicaps. Junior girls are welcome to play and, if they do, will have their handicaps adjusted as per Appendix O of the CONGU Unified Handicapping System. Any 'Handicap Adjustment' shots will be deducted from a girl's GROSS score before entering on the Match score sheet. Handicap shots should then be deducted as normal.

Caddies are not permitted - with the exception of a non-playing Junior Team Captain named before the start of the match. 

 

5          The competition will run from the 1st April to last week in August each year, with the final being played on the last Friday in August. All league matches must be completed no later than the 2nd Friday in August.

 

Each home Club will be responsible for agreeing a date and time for their match to be played, within 30 days of the draw taking place. At least two alternative dates must be offered to the other clubs, one of which should be at the weekend.

 

The Competition Administrator must be notified in writing via post or e-mail of the agreed dates no later than 30th April. In the event that agreement cannot be reached, the Competition Sub-Committee (see in rule 3) will settle any dispute, but any referral to them must be made a minimum of four weeks before the disputed date

 

6          All Clubs will be expected to fulfil their fixtures on the agreed dates. Failure to do so will result in a review of acceptance for the Competition in subsequent years.

 

7          Starting times are to be agreed by the home club and all games must start within 60 minutes of the agreed starting time. Failure to do so will automatically entail the loss of that/those game(s).

 

8          The Match format is stroke-play (medal) between the home club and all the other clubs within the group. Play will be in 3 balls with the lowest handicaps playing first.

 

Scoring is based on the 2 best gross scores, followed by the 2 best net scores to give a Team total. Where a gross score is counted, that score cannot also be used for the net score.

Any scores returned which are 6 or more shots better than the calculated CSS will be adjusted to that limit. 2 points are awarded for a Home win, 3 points for an Away win.

 

A home club whose aggregate score is better than all the other clubs (assuming 3 other clubs in the group) will score a maximum of 6pts. The maximum points that will be awarded to an away team in each match is 3 pts.

 

9          In the event that two or more teams are tied within a League - at the conclusion of the league stages - then their position will be determined by the lowest aggregate total for the matches played. In the event of this not deciding a winner then this will be separately decided depending upon the outcome of the matches between the clubs involved.

 

A tie in the final will be decided by the next best non-counting handicap score, and, if still tied, by the handicap score of the final team member.

 

10         The overall winning Club will receive the “The Tavistock Trophy” to be retained for one year.

 

11           The dress code applied by each Home Club must be respected. A team strip should be encouraged to give the event prestige.

 

12           Most Clubs provide refreshments at the end of the match and it is expected that players will attend the post match announcement of the result and accept the hospitality of the home Club. It is accepted that this will not possible on all occasions.
