With seven members of the established Colts squad playing in an Open event at Ashridge GC, four players from the U16 & U18 squads, Matt Hill, Matt Tizzard, James Brown and Connor Boyle stepped up to the mark impressively against their older and more experienced opponents.
Sadly, the morning foursomes brought no points. None of our pairs looked out of their depth, however, with credit going to Middlesex whose established pairings played some fine under par golf.
Similarly, in the afternoon the first six matches were lost to some fine golf from Middlesex whose local knowledge of a tricky golf course gave them a huge advantage. Bedfordshire finished very strongly, however, with two fine wins. Connor Boyle was never behind in his 3 & 1 victory and Michael George came back well from being one down after 13, to record a 2 & 1 win. Final score: Middlesex 10 - Bedfordshire 2. |
